Congratulations to all students collecting GCSE results today.
At GCSE, 18% of grades were 9s and 61% were 9, 8 or 7. These are the grades that access the best A levels. We will award 26 GCSE prizes at Skinners' Day on Friday 5th September to those who have at least five 9s amongst their GCSEs. Our unofficial forecast Progress 8 score, 0.86, looks very strong, indicating that our students added only a little under a grade to each of their GCSEs, based on progress made from the cognitive ability tests they took when they joined the school. There is a lot of credit here as this was the cohort whose transition to secondary school was very much blighted by the summer of Covid-19.
The vast majority of students will join our Sixth Form and we look forward to working with them over the next two years.
