Headmaster Ed Wesson welcomed Profesor Mike Lockwood, Old Skinner and until last week President of the Royal Astronomical Society and Amanda Armes whose son Ollie left in 2024 to the official opening of The Harris Wing and new S12 Science Laboratory and prep room.
Over thirty guests enjoyed Mike's memories of his time at Skinners' and in particular the lifelong impact of his science teacher Len Goldsmith, who instilled a passion for science which has stayed with Mike during his long and illustrious career.
Many thanks to Jules Sherwood, our Development Director, for organising the event and to Mike for (re)opening the building. Our particular thanks to our benefactors Colin Harris and the Armes family and to Baxall (who have managed the project), without whom we would not have managed to create such a dramatic improvement to our science block.
