A quick update from parent David Pound of his son Charlie and fellow Skinners' Alumni playing in the Oxford University Rugby "Cuppers" i.e. the inter-mural cup;
David writes:
"I thought you might enjoy the attached. It was taken at this year's Semi-Final of the Rugby "Cuppers" (i.e. intra-mural cup) at Oxford.
The match featured four Skinners' old boys (left to right):
Charlie Pound (2025 leaver), Christ Church
Sam Fineman (2021 leaver), Christ Church
Dan Record (2023 leaver), St Edmund Hall
Eli Hardwick (2024 leaver), St Edmund Hall
Good to see both Charlie and Eli still sporting their Skinners' shirts! The result on the day was disappointing for Charlie, although Teddy Hall went on to be crowned champions (https://www.seh.ox.ac.uk/news/teddy-hall-crowned-rugby-cuppers-champions-2025-26) with Dan playing a key role. That blow was softened in subsequent weeks, as Christ Church went one better to become losing finalists in Touch, before finally achieving greatness in Sevens.
Suffice to say Charlie is absolutely loving Oxford. He is working very hard (Greek has been a bit of a struggle), drinking possibly harder still, and fully embracing the Christ Church life. A huge thank you to Skinners' for teeing him up so well to make the most of his opportunity.
Best regards
David"
