A level results day always provides a time for celebration, the culmination of (usually) very hard work and a summer of stress. Today 175 candidates have picked up their results. 19% of grades were at A*, 50% at A*-A and 75% at A*-B. 13 students got at least three A*s, and 6 got four A*s. A further 39 students got at least three A grades.
Our value added score at A level (+ 0.22) means we appear to have added a bit a little short of a quarter of a grade to each A level.
The university picture continues to suggest it is a buyers’ market: like last year, destinations have been very strong. Well over 80% have their first choice so far. About 17 students are in Clearing and are finding very good university places. The main destinations this year are Exeter (14), Bristol (12) and Durham (11) it seems.
The main directions course-wise are: Engineering (27); Economics / Business / Management (25); Politics / International Relations / PPE (14); History / Ancient History / Social Sciences (14); and Physics (12)
15 of our students had applied for degree apprenticeships. To date, five are now taking them up at a variety of firms from Deloitte to Rolls Royce.
Congratulations to all our A Level and degree apprenticeship successes and the very best of luck for your futures as you move on from Skinners' School.
